Details About Exhibition

Held on 13 February 2023, the Art Bazar was a curated sale and showcase celebrating the depth and diversity of contemporary African art through the works of Nelson Okoh, Bolaji Ogunwo, Joel Otuedor, and Fidel Nnamdi Oyiogu. The exhibition brought together distinct artistic voices united by a shared engagement with form, identity, culture, and aesthetic expression.

From Oyiogu’s rhythmically composed feminine forms rooted in Uli-inspired geometries, to Okoh’s half-abstract, palette-knife portraits that explore light, emotion, and perception, the exhibition highlighted varied approaches to figuration and impressionism. Otuedor’s provocative explorations of the female body and gender politics challenged conventional boundaries of representation, while Ogunwo’s richly textured paintings reflected Nigeria’s cultural landscapes, histories, and lived environments.

Together, the works on display offered collectors and viewers an intimate encounter with artists whose practices span tradition, experimentation, and contemporary African narratives.
